VET Quality Framework (VQF) - Australia wide

The VET Quality Framework (VQF) is a set of standards and conditions used by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national VET regulator, to assess whether registered training organisations (RTOs) under its jurisdiction meet the requirements for registration. To obtain and retain registration, RTOs must comply with each of the elements and their associated components.

Mapping

Assessment needs to adequately cover all aspects of a unit of competency and its associated assessment requirements. Mapping is the process of checking and recording all necessary information is addressed.

Training Packages

It is essential that RTO staff know how to access information about relevant Training Packages, so that they can stay up-to-date with the requirements for training and assessment.

Coversheets

Coversheets are an essential component of an assessment tool and serve as a way to capture and record important information.

Continuous Improvement - Standard 4.4

Standard 4.4 relates to the focus area of continuous improvement.

Training Package Development

When Training Packages are developed and/or maintained, various organisations are involved in the process to ensure occupational skills are delivered to the particular standards required by specific industries.

Access and Equity

Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015

These Standards are the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. These Standards form part of the VET Quality Framework, a system which ensures the integrity of nationally recognised qualifications. RTOs are required to comply with these Standards.

Assessment - Standards 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6

Standards 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 relate to the focus area of assessment.

Checklists

Checklists can be designed for almost any purpose and are effective tools for recording assessment judgements.

Standards 4.1 and 4.2 relate to the focus area of leadership and accountability.

Quality Assurance (Self Assurance & Auditing)

Quality Assurance gives confidence that the quality requirements of a product or service are being fulfilled. All RTOs should ensure their operations are quality assured so that quality VET delivery is maintained.
