Please note that the revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations were publicly released on 1 October 2024 and will come into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. 

The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 will continue to apply until then.

This template is based on, and refers to, the requirements for the current regulatory environment.

Systematic validation is a requirement outlined in Clauses 1.9-1.11 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.  The inclusion of the word ‘systematic’ means that this is not an ad hoc activity, RTOs must plan for validation including who will be involved, what will be validated and how much evidence will be reviewed.

An effective process for ensuring validation is comprehensive and effective is to use detailed templates to guide the participants in the review of materials.  This then provides a starting point for the reviews and allows for details to be captured as evidence of the process.
