Change to scope for Electrotechnology Project
UEE Review Units Certificate II/III: IRC Decision on Review Project
The IRC has determined to complete the transition of the whole UEE training package to comply with the 2012 standards for training packages by 30 June 2018 as a priority.
A full review of the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) and Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, including all 113 units of competency, will follow as soon as practicable post transition. This project will be submitted as part of the IRC skills forecast by late April.

The Biosecurity Response Technical Advisory Committee has finalised draft Training Package materials for the transition and review project and would like stakeholder feedback.

Feedback is sought on the draft materials until Thursday 29 March 2018.
New Geospatial Project Commenced
The Defence Geospatial Case for Change has been approved by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee. The Public Safety Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards (AIS) in consultation with Defence stakeholders.
The Case for Change was drafted in consultation with the Australian Geospatial Imagery Organisation and Defence stakeholders with the recommendation for development of a national joint cyber and geospatial capability, as outlined in the White Paper and First Principles Review.
The Public Safety Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards in consultation with industry stakeholders. The project covers the review of existing and new Property Services Training Package products, relevant to ANZIC 6922 Surveying and Mapping Services and ANZCO 3121 Architectural, Building and Surveying Technicians, where these roles are aligned to current and future Defence capability requirements.
