Unpacking the Most Common Non-compliances in Assessment

11, 27 and 28 June 2019
Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne

Non-compliance across vocational assessment has plagued trainers and assessors for many years, clouding an understanding of the assessment principles and rules that have fundamentally stayed the same.  In response to feedback from attendees of our 1 hour webinar "Most Common Assessment Issues Identified by ASQA" in 2018, Velg Training is proud to offer this comprehensive workshop that really unpacks assessment issues and provides practical activities to help guide you.

Ensuring that assessment tools and supporting material are compliant is an essential driver for any RTO. This workshop goes back to basics, however, is presented through the eyes of an auditor. Through open discussion, it aims to explore answers to the questions:

  • What are common areas of non-compliance in assessment practices identified at audit?
  • What assessment practices, systems and processes do auditors expect to see?
  • How do you ensure that all staff consistently apply an RTO’s assessment system? What informs an auditor that the RTO is delivering high quality and compliant assessments, that permits it to issue AQF certification documentation?
  • What documents and level of documentation are sought by an auditor?
During the workshop, participants will unpack examples of non-compliant assessments and supporting material, to provide valuable insight into practices to avoid.

The presenter will also touch on reasonable adjustment and student support, RPL assessment practices and third-party reporting and validation of assessments as an RTO quality assurance mechanism.
