We are a Skills Service Organisation (SSO). We receive funding from the Commonwealth Government. We provide support to Industry Reference Committees (IRCs). 

IRCs work with industry to ensure skills and qualifications reflect existing and emerging workforce development needs.

SSOs are accountable for providing technical, operational and secretariat services to IRCs to enable them to undertake their industry engagement and training package development and review activities.

We provide support services to the following IRCs:

  • Construction, Plumbing and Services
  • Property Services

We support these IRCs to perform the following functions:

  • gather information and provide research on industry trends, gaps and opportunities, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • develop Industry Skills Forecasts
  • develop briefing papers, cases for change, and case for endorsements for our industry projects
  • develop and maintain qualification and training products as part of our ongoing product development cycle and quality improvement processes.

Skills Impact is the national Skills Service Organisation (SSO), funded by the Australian Government, to support the operation of Industry Reference Committees (IRCs). IRCs develop industry competency skills standards and qualifications for use by industry and the VET sector.
