Session Overview

Becoming a smarter educator means that our learners experience diverse Metacognitive approaches under our watch.
In other words, our students learn to intentionally think about the thinking and ideas they will use.

This session models Metacognitive thinking! It will allow us all an opportunity to explore the benefits of a Metacognitive approach to teaching and learning by exploring practical tools that encourage thinking, planning and problem-solving.

Together we will explore the benefits of using de Bono’s 6 thinking hats, Mind mapping and Postcards as tools to discover smart ways of thinking and organising ideas.

We will also explore a diverse range of Graphic organisers to empower students’ understanding and vital knowledge-management skills.

We will also delve into the ideas of important reflective prompts to inspire self-directed thinking and action.  This interactive session will conclude with a number of Reflective practice tools you can implement in your next sessions.
