NVPDW: Industry Engagement – Informing vs Validating

18 October 2024
Online via Zoom Webinar

This webinar that forms part of our 2024 National VET PD Week is presented by Melanie Alexandra (who achieved an average score of 4.2/5 stars).  She will share some effective strategies for engaging with the industry.

Overview

The effectiveness of vocational education is largely dependent upon the offering of training and assessment services that reflect current industry requirements. The world of vocational education and training (VET) is forever changing, not only impacting on the training packages we deliver and assess, but also on the industry relevance of the resources we have in place to support those training and assessment services.

This webinar looks at some effective strategies for engaging with industry, highlights the purpose behind that engagement, unpacks the types of questions that invoke valid responses from those engaged and inform the industry relevance of training and assessment practices applied within Registered Training Organisations.

Key topics covered within the webinar

  • Unpacking the differences between informing and validating training and assessment strategies and practices
  • Implementing a range of engagement strategies to inform the industry relevance of applied resources
  • Preparing targeted questions to enhance the validity of responses acquired from industry representatives
  • Using engagement outcomes to affect industry-relevant resources and services
