Overview

Would you like all of your learners to be fully involved in the learning in your classes and not have any learners sitting on sidelines as observers?

In this active learning session, we will delve into the idea of quizzes to engage learners and activate a simple but effective strategy that physically moves learners as they are thinking, writing and drawing.

We will also activate a number of innovative activities which encourage interaction and community based developmental thinking; when we share  ideas, we are smarter and do less work!

In addition, we will trial activities that encourage hesitant learners to take the initial step into class participation.

As part of each of our sessions together we will plan forward, looking at possible challenges and ways that we might overcome them using good practice. Bring your challenges along to the session and we will think of possibilities together.

We will complete our session with an innovative opportunity for Reflective Practice that you can use with your learners and in conclusion answer any burning questions you may have!

  • Trainers/Assessors who have been educating for less than 2 years
  • Trainers working under supervision arrangements
  • School teachers who deliver VET programs or are soon to deliver VET
  • Recent graduates of the TAE40116 or TAE40122
  • New TAFE trainers/assessors
