Velg Training is excited to announce our annual QLD Schools VET Conference will be taking place on Friday 5th August 2022(Online)

We have been helping Queensland Schools since 2003, so we have learned from what you value most. We aim to inspire and motivate you! We want you to feel like this is an event where you can interact with other Vocational Education and Training (VET) practitioners and hear from presenters who understand your needs, passions and concerns.

The conference has been designed for anyone who is involved in the VET programs at your school (even if your school is not an RTO): Principals, Deputies, VET Coordinators, HODs, Careers Advisors and VET Teachers.

We've listened!

Here's what's in store this year:

  • Our program is being built specifically in response to feedback received to ensure that the sessions we offer are purpose-built, meaningful and resonate with you.  We have surveyed past attendees and liaised with representatives from Education Queensland, Catholic Education Brisbane and Independent Schools Queensland to really unpack what impacts you.

  • We did our very best in 2021 to be prepared for the impacts of COVID by preparing pre-recorded sessions ‘just in case’. The recordings were well received, but we have taken on board what is important to you – the ability to interact with presenters, the content, and each other in real-time.  This year, mindful of the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and your feedback, the conference will be a live, interactive, virtual, multi-session event.

  • You also told us that maintaining currency in training and assessment practice is difficult during a busy school term. So, we are including an incredible bonus! A 10 x 60-minute TAE webinar recording package from our extremely popular TAE PD Week as part of your conference ticket so that you can undertake PD directly related to your TAE Qualification at any time that suits you.

What to expect

Your ticket purchase will allow access a range of online, interactive, concurrent sessions.

Your confirmation email will include information about accessing each session and links for you to register any questions on notice you might have for the presenters to respond to.

The online platform being used will be Zoom (meetings). This means you will have the ability to ask questions of the presenters, break out into discussion groups and interact with other like-minded professionals. It also means that you can un-mute yourself to speak and select to have your video camera on or off. Please note that each session will be recorded.

Please ensure you have the appropriate System Requirements and that your localised network security settings/firewall restrictions are set to enable Zoom. If you would like to trial your current operating system, please contact us for a test by emailing us at webinar@velgtraining.com

How does the bonus 10 x webinar recording work?

Find it hard to complete PD on specific days, at specific times?

We want to make things easier for you!  Clauses 1.13 (c) and 1.16 from the Standards for RTOs 2015 require that you have current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning and that you undertake PD in the fields of knowledge and practice of VET.

Introducing our TAE PD Week webinar recordings which were developed by industry experts to ensure that the content of each session compliments your existing knowledge and skills. They were created to align with components of the 9 core units from the latest TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment so that they relate directly to providing training and assessment in a competency-based environment.
