This is because they assist assessors in making consistent assessment decisions about competence. A well-designed assessment guide will help to minimise variations in judgements between assessors and will enable more relevant and meaningful feedback to be provided to candidates.
This session will outline how the principle of reliability can be applied through the development of a good quality assessment guide, highlighting best practice elements in terms of format, detail, and breadth of guidance.
Critically, it will focus on how to develop evidence criteria to judge the quality of performance, (including the creation of VET-based rubrics), and will provide insight into framing model answers for the evaluation of knowledge, as well the descriptions for observations needed to assess skills.
Join Marc Ratcliffe for this session who will provide suggestions on extension advice that can be included to support assessors in understanding the full intent of the unit of competency. That is: information about contextualisation options, clustering opportunities, reasonable adjustments, or the qualification details with which the unit is packaged, to confirm any relevant AQF requirements.
