Conducting Validation Online

5 May 2021
ONLINE

Validating our assessments can be challenging when trying to get the right people in the room at the same time. This is not a new challenge but one that has been exacerbated in recent times. Many of us have needed to manage the impacts of COVID-19 and lockdowns by working from home, and this has for many made it more difficult to coordinate effective validation sessions.

The immediate need to improve our validation practices has been brought to the forefront, as we continue to work towards our responsibilities regarding validation while we endure a disrupted working environment. However, when things do finally return to what will be the ‘new normal’, our learnings will be retained, and we can continue to use them to support a more robust process for ensuring quality validation. This includes leveraging from a greater pool of appropriate participants and working in a way that can provide more time for review and reflection in a systematic way.

Technology has become more familiar to us over the past 12 months, and we are becoming comfortable with teaching and meeting in video conferencing spaces. These spaces can also be used in our compliance processes, and both synchronous and asynchronous technologies and techniques can allow for improved collaboration, and better documentation of discussion and decision making.

This webinar is designed for those coordinating or participating in assessment validation in the online space. It will explore how to set up a range of tools and processes to engage those who are involved, provide opportunity for collaboration and document participation, while ensuring the opportunity for those crucial discussions can be conducted effectively and without compromise.

Key topics covered within the webinar

  • Strategies for planning and participating in validation in a remote environment
  • Strategies for collaborating both synchronous and asynchronous
  • Digital tools that can be used to support robust validation
